change of plans!

As most of you reading this would already know, we were faced with the tough decision to postpone our original wedding date on May 30th because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Now we are looking towards July 10th in joyful anticipation of celebrating with you all. Although this has been a hard time for us all, we believe in God's perfect timing and Divine providence. While these past few months have been a crazy whirlwind, the promise of His resurrection and perfect Love is still true! God can draw immense good from hard things, and we believe He has something incredible in store, because He is an incredible God and that never changes. We cannot wait to be side by side with you all again in person, hopefully being able to hug, cry and laugh together, celebrating this vocation that God has called us to. Times are hard but we proclaim His goodness over each of your lives today. Pray hope and don't worry! God is in control. We look forward in hope, praying that we will see you all in person on July 10th!

How we met

Well, we actually met initially through... Snapchat. We had a handful of mutual friends; so when Eve was studying abroad in Austria and Nick was on our schools main campus for his first semester, we heard about each other a lot. Nick first heard about Eve while hanging out in a gazebo next to one of the dorm halls with two of our mutual friends. One of Eve's friends told her to add Nick on Snapchat in mid-December, and so she did. All of winter break we had photo-conversations on Snapchat, sort of getting to 'know' each other, in a weird social media type of way (classic millennials, we know). The day before school started Nick was already in his household common room when Eve was getting to campus - this was the moment, the moment we finally met in person. Nick was slightly nervous and Eve had no idea what to expect. Eve walked in and began to say hi to old friends and meet new ones. When she got around to Nick, she kind of awkwardly shook his hand and said something like, "nice to finally actually meet you.. in person." That was about it for our first encounter. We went on interacting normally as acquaintances for a little while - little did we know that the Disciples common room where we first met would be a place for some of our biggest moments. On January 23rd, 2017, we went on our first date to I-hop and talked for hours, totally annoying our waiter. After about one month of going on dates, we made it official (in the same place we would later be engaged) and the rest is history!!

About us!

Our hearts are to love and serve the Lord, and our mission as a couple is to witness His love and draw others into His goodness. We believe that everything is a gift from God and we strive to offer our lives back to Him in every moment, imitating Mary by giving our "fiat" (Luke 1:38). Our call to the vocation of marriage is a real way for us to grow in holiness and reflect His love in the world. We believe in the power and beauty of the covenant of marriage, and thank God for the opportunity He has given us to walk with each other towards heaven by following His will for our lives. We know this journey won't always be easy but we also know it is worth fighting for. We are both currently studying at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where we met. Nick just graduated with his bachelor's in theology/ minor in psychology and is going to grad school in the fall while he will be working as a residence director!! Eve is going into her senior year of nursing school. Eve was born and raised in Denver, but her family moved to Georgia where they live now just a few years ago, and Nick was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana! Eve is an only child and Nick is the youngest of four!
