On Thursday, February 29, there will be: • Kabbalat Panim at 5pm, where Eve and Ben will hold separate pre-nuptial receptions. There will be hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and l'chaims. • The Chuppah (the ceremony) at 6pm. • After the ceremony, there will be dinner and dancing!

The ceremony will be outside and the reception will be indoors.

Busses are provided to and from the wedding venue from Margosa Hotel & Market House Hotel. Hotel pick-up at 4:15pm Busses depart for Tel Aviv beginning at 10pm

We’ll have no formal events between the Henna party and the Welcome L’chaim. We encourage you to take this time to do your own touring!

What can I expect at the Henna party?

Answer

On Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6-10pm come ready to dance and eat delicious Yemenite food! It’s a very informal party (casual attire) with no seating plan. All that we ask is that you come, learn the Yemenite step from one of Ben’s relatives or Hanna, and have fun!

What type of food can I expect at the Henna Party?

Answer

There will be traditional Yemenite food such as Lahoh, Jachnun and Kubaneh (full of gluten). There will also be salads (for the vegan and gluten free).

What can I expect at the ‘Welcome L’Chaim?’

Answer

This will be a parents-led "drinks and nosh" on Wednesday, February 28th from 4-7pm. Location to be announced. (It will be near the Tel Aviv hotels.) Eve and Ben will pop in separately, as it’s a tradition for the bride and groom not to see each other for the week leading up to the wedding.

What is the plan for the Shabbat/Kibbutz Lavi Weekend?

Answer

On Friday morning, March 1st, we will be providing transportation from the Tel Aviv hotels (Market House & Margosa) to Kibbutz Lavi, located near the Sea of Galilee (approx. 2 hr drive). We plan on having a Shabbat itinerary of evening services, Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast, morning services, Saturday lunch, and an afternoon walk. All are welcome to partake in as much or little as you would like. Following this weekend, we will either bid farewell (speak to Gill for transportation reservations) or continue together on the Israel tour.

We are covering the costs of the tour guide, entrance fees, transportation, and some of the meals. You will need to cover your accommodations in Jerusalem, Sunday through Wednesday morning, at the Arthur Hotel. (Booking details in TRAVEL tab.)

Winter in Israel means highs of 70F / 21C, lows of 55F / 12C, with mostly clear days and occasional showers.

What language do they speak in Israel?

Israelis speak Hebrew and/or Arabic, but most speak English. What is the currency exchange?

Answer

The exchange rate ranges from $1 USD to 3-4 ₪ INS (Israeli New Shekel). For example, $20 USD would be ~ 75 ₪ INS. (If someone tries to sell you a chess set with pearl stickers for 500 ₪ shekels, walk away!)

Are major credit cards accepted?

All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Be sure to inform your bank that you will be traveling out of the country.

Do I need cash?

Answer

Most places accept cards, but we recommend having a little cash (around 300 shekels) for shopping in markets where they mainly accept cash.

Do I need an electrical adaptor?

Answer

YES! Israel has the same standards as Europe, so we recommend getting an adaptor. Type C, 2 pin plug for a voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50Hz.

We do not have a registry. Your presence at our wedding is your gift to us! However, we do have a Newlywed Fund for those of you who wish to contribute to our future together. See REGISTRY tab.
