From Bethlehem to South Bend, Sara moved to Indianapolis after graduating from Saint Mary's College. From Evansville to Bloomington, Evan moved to Indianapolis after completing his masters degree at Indiana University. In 2016, Sara and Evan started on the same day at the same company.

Outside of work, Sara and Evan's social circles started to overlap. Those around them could see the connection, but Sara and Evan were on their own timeline. After countless movies, long talks, book recommendations, and shared meals, they decided to be more than friends.

In late June 2022, Evan asked Sara to go on a bike ride to the local art museum's hundred-acre nature park. He packed a picnic, and Sara was clueless. Shortly after eating lunch, Evan pulled out a box with a special ring inside, and they said yes to forever together.
