We met the day of Evie's 15th birthday party in Bayfield, CO. April (Mother of the Groom) and Michelle (Mother of the Bride) started a small catering business and were catering the birthday party. Dakota and his father were bringing over folding tables for the food and we spotted each other in the alleyway behind the house. Evie went inside and told April and Michelle the one day she was going to marry Dakota. Evie asked April to make the wedding cake and then fantasized about her dream husband for years. Dakota and Evie became friends and both families went on outings together for years, especially the boat. One time on the boat, we were riding the tube together and Dakota asked Evie if she actually said she "wanted to marry" him, she said "Yes, I absolutely do". Fast-forward three years and we started dating. Dakota was in the Marine Corps stationed in North Carolina and Evie was living in Montrose, CO. We maintained long-distance for three months and then met for the first time as a couple. We instantly knew the relationship would last forever. Evie then moved to North Carolina after 5 months of them being apart and we saw each other every chance we got. In February of 2021, Dakota proposed and Evie said "Yes!" Since the engagement we've welcomed a beautiful boy into the world and can't wait to tie the knot and officially start our lives together as a family.
