Lizeth and I first met at a church internship program in Tri-Cities, Washington. When she introduced herself to the group I thought to myself, "What a sweet and quiet girl she seems like." The first conversation we had was that week at the local fall harvest festival when I asked her, "So, whats your story?" Little did I know upon meeting her that this cute girl in love with the Lord would also end up falling in love with me.
Once I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Lizeth, I bought a ring, and planned the proposal. Since she grew up in Phoenix, AZ I thought it would be great to propose in the beautiful town of Sedona. Thankfully, her sister-in-law was just starting her professional photography business so I told Liz, "Let's plan a fun weekend with your family and help Maria build her portfolio." Boom, she took the bait. I planned the weekend, chose the rock with the best angle of golden hour sunlight, and tricked her into thinking we were just getting some memorable family photos. As the big day progressed, so did my excitement. Once we reached the top of the rock at the literal perfect time for photos, I dropped down on my knee and said to her, "Lizeth, will you marry me?" Taken completely by surprise, she said YES!
