If staying on-site the venue - where and when do we check in?

Answer

Guests staying on-site may check-in any time after 3 pm on Friday and any time before 3 pm on Saturday. Stop by the information booth to pick up your lodging assignment and property map. Check out on Sunday by 10 am. Please note - the bride and groom will be busy! Friday is rehearsal dinner, so if you're not invited, please make sure you have meal arrangements! After rehearsal dinner, the party will make its' way to the bonfire to connect with others staying on-site. On Saturday, please explore all that the West Coast and Pema Osel Ling has to offer and make your way back for the wedding reception by 3 pm.

Question

Please view the property map under the Schedule tab above. Please limit parking at the Amphitheater and Celebration Hall to the right side of the Round House for wedding party and disabled guests only. Guests are welcome to leave their vehicles at the venue overnight and pick up the following morning.

Question

How do we get to the venue?

Answer

Please note this is a rural location so having directions is key before making your way up the mountain. We have listed the directions provided by our venue below: CURRENT ROAD CONDITIONS: We do NOT recommend taking Highland Drive (via the Summit Road) to Pema Osel Ling as is it a one-way road due to several landslides from previous storms. Directions From The North: WARNING: Please DO NOT follow Google Maps, your GPS, or MapQuest directions that take you to Highland Way via Summit Road. Highland Way via Summit Road off of Highway 17 is very remote, curvy and can take longer than if you take Highway 1 South from Santa Cruz. From the East Bay, San Jose or San Francisco: Drive to Santa Cruz and then follow the directions from Santa Cruz. Head south on Highway 1. Take the Freedom Boulevard exit and go left over the freeway. After 5 miles, you will come to a stop sign where you will make a left on Corralitos Road. Follow Corralitos Road for 2 miles. At the four-way stop sign the road becomes Eureka Canyon. Go straight through the stop sign onto Eureka Canyon Road and continue for 6.7 miles. Pema Osel Ling is on the left side, with a big blue sign posted at the entrance. Continue up driveway, then veer right at the welcome sign for parking. Directions From the South: From Monterey (Google Map of this route): Head north on Highway 1. Take the Airport Boulevard Exit. At the stop light on Airport and Freedom Blvd., turn left and stay left onto Freedom Boulevard, follow it for a couple of miles to the next stop sign. At the stop sign, make a right onto Corralitos Road.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire. When picking an outfit, please expect uneven terrain and unpredictable weather conditions as we will be in the mountains. There are paved areas but there will also be dirt, gravel, and grass to navigate. We advise you to bring layers and comfortable footwear to change into if you're opting for heels.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids and wish we could invite all of them, however, we are only able to accommodate the children traveling from out of state. Please reach out to the bride or groom with any concerns.

Question

Is there cell reception on-site?

Answer

You might get some cell reception but please be prepared to not have much service as we will be in the mountains. There is a landline in the main house. If you are having difficulties reaching those of us on-site, please call the landline at (831) 761-8288.

Question

Is there Wi-Fi on-site?

Answer

There is Wi-Fi next to the bookstore and in the Orchard House, but we cannot guarantee services due to our rural location.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will be providing shuttle service to and from hotels in Aptos to those in need. If you have a need, please reach out to the couple.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! Please see the registry page on our website for registry information. We are registered with Zola and Amazon.

Question

Is the venue ADA friendly?

Answer

The venue is mostly paved but there are also steps, gravel, grass, and dirt to navigate. There is a short, paved walk up a hill to the ceremony site from the parking area. We will have a golf cart handy for those who need the extra help. Please reach out to the couple to secure a spot on the cart.

Question

When can we use the swimming pool?

Answer

The pool is open and available for guest use between 3 pm-6 pm on Friday, 8 am - 3:30 pm on Saturday, and 8 am - 11 am on Sunday.

Question

Is smoking allowed on the venue grounds?

Answer

Sorry, no smoking of any kind (vaping, cigarettes, marijuana, etc.) is permitted anywhere on the venue grounds as it is seen as disrespectful among the Tibetan Buddhist community. Nicotine patches, gum, edibles of all kinds are allowed, but the physical act of smoking is not. We'll lose our deposit if they catch you, and you might be asked to leave, so please plan accordingly!

Question

Can we visit the Buddhist Shrine?

Answer

Yes, you are welcome to visit the Shrine for silent meditation or to view the Shrine and its installations. No large group activity permitted.
