It all started for Evan when he met Sabrina for the first time when he wanted to help out on the sound team for CCF. She would laugh at every joke he said and he enjoyed making her laugh. They became good friends and would joke around at the booth frequently. However, at the time, Sabrina had a boyfriend and Evan turned away from the prospect of having a relationship. Shortly after, Evan stopped attending CCF for several reasons and they had next to no contact for the next several months. Now during this time, Sabrina had broken up with her ex, unbeknowst to Evan. So when they reconnected during the JCD retreat early August, she began to develop feelings for Evan. Then, a few weeks later, Evan and Sabrina had the opportunity to sit next to each other at church, and then proceeded to have a three hour long conversation after church. It was then that both of them had what could be described as Godly inspiration, and the same thought passed through their minds, "This is the one." However, the Lord had convicted the both of them to wait on dating due to several reasons. And they chose to obey... for the most part. They would continue to talk a lot during and after CCF and church. Where they would receive minor heckling from church goers including pastors. "The waiting," as they call it, lasted for six months, which gave both of them enough time to grow in relationship with God, and getting to know each other. On March 2nd of 2024, Sabrina and Evan officially started dating. And not but a few months later, Sabrina left for Winston Oregon for an internship at Wildlife Safari, where they would need to wait another 3 months from seeing each other face to face. This was the point that Evan and Sabrina faced much greater challenges in their relationship, and the two of them had to come to terms with a lot of issues that they had with each other. Now, during this summer break, Evan was coming up with a plan to propose, where he sneakily covered the talk with Sabrina's parents with his dad's birthday. On the surface, he and his dad went to Winston to go visit Sabrina at Wildlife Safari, but the actual plan was meeting up with her parents and getting her father's blessing, which he received. The plan Evan set up was to propose on October 14th at Multnomah Falls. However, the plan became unnecessarily troublesome and in the process, Sabrina accidentally learned of Evans plan to propose nearly a week before. Then, as they were driving to Oregon, 30 minutes out from their destination, Evan realized he forgot the ring back at his apartment. The plan to propose went the best it could despite her knowing the plan and him forgetting the ring. From there, they slowly began to put their wedding together, and while they had lots of ups and downs, they steadily solidified their relationship and to them, there was no going back.
