We are so grateful for family and friends who have been there supporting and encouraging us, and shaping us into the people we are today. You all have been such large parts of our lives, and we cannot wait to celebrate this adventure with you!

The Proposal

April 28th, 2019 - Wimberley, Texas

We were on a weekend getaway focused on relaxing, fishing, and enjoying each other. On April 28th, as we were getting ready to go fishing, Evan called McKenna into the living area of the AirBnB. He pulled out the box of fly fishing lures and asked her to choose the lure that would catch the best fish. It took about 30 seconds of looking and insisting that the sparkly green one would be best, that she noticed the ring resting in the box. Evan dropped to his knee and asked McKenna to marry him. The answer was yes, full of smiles and happy tears. The rest of the trip was spent celebrating with kayaking, fishing, eating, and celebrating.

2020

2020 was a roller coaster of a year. It had some incredible highs and quite a few lows. We have been so lucky to have each other and our families for support. We truly appreciate everyone coming on this journey with us, and being so flexible with all of the plan changes. In early 2020, we made the decision to postpone our wedding until 2021 due to Covid-19. We canceled our Showermony and had a small ceremony instead to try and keep people safe. We planned the small ceremony and reception in 3 weeks (thanks to our families) and we got married on May 23rd in Boerne, Texas. We were able to have some close friends and family see us in person, and were joined virtually by many others that couldn't make it. We purchased and moved into our first home in late August, and quickly settled in. We started working on projects, picking paint colors, and enjoying each others company. Loki the cat seemed a little lonely (I'm sure he would say otherwise), so we adopted adopted a wonderful standard poodle and named her Islay after one of the islands of Scotland. In December, we made the decision to push the Scotland vow renewal back to May 2022. It was a hard decision to make, but it seemed like the smartest thing to do. We want to be able to celebrate with as many people as possible, and make some incredible memories. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again soon once things have settled down, and we hope that everyone is staying safe. We love y'all so much, and are so grateful to have you as a part of our lives. Evan and McKenna Gallagher
