Long before they met, both Evan and Martha found their way to Boulder, Colorado. But even before that, they had another location in common—Minnesota. Martha raised in Elk River, while Evan graduated high school in Waconia. Though they unknowingly attended many of the same concerts and events, their paths never crossed. Evan moved to Colorado in 2010, with Martha migrated west five years later. Despite having large Minnesota networks, their introduction wouldn’t come until 7 years later. That moment finally arrived on April 28, 2022, when they met for a casual first date at Under the Sun in Boulder. What was meant to be a quick beer turned into three hours of conversation, laughter, and an immediate sense of ease. They connected over music, the outdoors, and their shared Midwest roots, feeling at home in each other’s presence. Martha appreciated Evan’s steady, reliable nature, while Evan was drawn to Martha’s warmth and effortless charm. That weekend, while Martha told her friends about Evan during a girls’ trip, Evan confidently told his buddies he had met the woman he was going to marry. From then on, they spent as much time together as possible, growing closer through travel, music, card games, new hobbies, and their shared love for their dog, Greta. In October 2023, they moved in together in Longmont, creating a home where they love hosting family and friends. Both work within several miles from home, Martha as an Agency Manager for a home care company, while Evan works in marketing for Oskar Blues. While they frequent the bowling alley and local Mexican restaurants, some of their best moments have been the simplest—laughing over cocktails on the couch or enjoying quiet mornings with coffee planning their future. Over the past three years, they’ve had plenty of adventures, from road trips to visit family to cross-country flights to see friends. But their most memorable trip yet was a rainy weekend getaway in Monterey, CA in March of 2024, where Evan revealed a secret plan and proposed on the beach. After Martha's tearful approval a heavy rain began. They ran back to the car engaged to be married. Now, they’re excited to take the next step and celebrate with the people who mean the most. They can’t wait to share their big day with you!
