How'd we meet?

"Love always happens when you're not looking"

Evan and Katie met at Fayze's Restaurant & Bakery in downtown La Crosse, Wis. They were often paired up when serving customers. Little did the managers know, they were pairing them up for life. Long shifts and a few after-work drinks usually led them downtown La Crosse with co-workers. You often could find them laughing, referencing movies, singing, or busting each other's chops. Katie lived with Fayze coworkers and usually got to know Evan because he never left her house and her couch. Evan moved to the cities in the Winter of 2013. Katie graduated and was on the job hunt at the same time but usually found herself texting and hanging out with Evan after her interviews. Then after one magical night of whiskey, wings, and Skee-ball Beef and Keefe became official and realized they couldn't get enough of eachother.

Proposal

"Always keep your lawn mowed"

Evan and Katie's proposal starts with closing on their first home together in August of 2020. Upon arriving to the new home Katie was greeted by Gretzky donning a shiny collar WITH another shiny object clung on a ribbon to him as well (the engagement ring). Evan got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him in their backyard. After hugs and tears and a confirmed "Yes." In true endearing Evan fashion - he excitedly cut the ring off the ribbon on Gretzky's collar, but as he did the ring flew and landed somewhere in the abyss of the grass. A range of emotions and colorful language emerged and all hands on deck hit the grass all before they could turn the key into their new home. "Let's rent a metal detector!" - Emily exclaimed. Thankful for a dedicated family search party - the ring was found 20 minutes later. ( Thanks Deke ) and Evan and Katie started a new milestone together in their new home. And yes, this is all recorded to view on Katie's Instagram. (Thank you Hunter)
