Question

Paper Invitations, but online RSVP?

Answer

For your, the ceremony, and reception locations convenience, we've decided to send paper invitations. With this, we'll include a detail slip in place of an RSVP return slip. This will serve as your "pass" at the ceremony location and reception, while also providing information. Plus it's nice to receive a formal invitation.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We'd like to know by July 18th for the convenience of the ceremony and reception staff and employees. Though we understand that our invitations officially arrive later than most. If you have any concerns that you may or may not be able to make it, please contact us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you were provided a guest slot, please tell us if they can make it to the celebration when you RSVP. Please also provide their name for the seating chart. You can always ask us directly and we might be able to work something out. Though please understand that we have limited amount of space and won't accommodate young children.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Most of our guests don't have young children. Though for those who do, please don't bring them to our wedding. They likely wouldn't have fun anyways. We understand if this means you wouldn't be able to make it. We appreciate your cooperation.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony space will be ready for guests to come and find a seat at 3pm. The ceremony will begin at 315pm. Guests have free admission and parking for the whole day so you're welcome to be at the arboretum any time before the ceremony begins and afterwards till the reception at 530pm.

Question

Guest Book?

Answer

Our guest book will be a polaroid photo album. We will have 1-2 cameras, extra film, photo album w/writing space and fine point sharpies for our guests to use. One of the cameras can also print with Bluetooth, so you can send us an image to print later that you've taken on your phone. We'll do our best to provide instruction, we'll also add this link here: https://instax.com/mini_evo/common/support/manuals/manual_naen.pdf (We encourage our guests to shoot a picture in the lovely Morton Arboretum) *Though we also understand if you'd like to opt. out of an image of yourself. You can take a picture of something you liked about the wedding, other guests, or something at the Morton Arboretum. We'd like to take advantage of being able to take pictures to remember everything. Thank you all in advance!

Question

What will the ceremony be like?

Answer

A simple summer outdoor ceremony. We plan to keep it short, though it will be in both English and Spanish. We recommend sunscreen, and we'll be providing plastic water bottles in a bucket of ice for the heat. The whole thing should last about 30-40min tops, though we have until 4pm. In case of rain, we don't have a back up indoor location. We'll still be continuing as long as the weather isn't dangerous. We understand if you choose to not attend the ceremony and join us at the indoor reception afterwards. That includes our wedding party.

Question

What will the reception be like?

Answer

Drinks and appetizers will be available starting around 530, this'll lead to salad, entrée and then dessert. The location is open until 10. We'll have a few copies of the menu and drink options at the tables. Food will be served plated style. There will be a seating chart and place cards to make it easier to find your seat. There's minimal space so there won't be a dance floor.

Question

Gifts?

Answer

Since we already live together, we have most of the stuff couples normally ask for on registries. So, on this site, we've made it possible to Venmo or use a credit card(w/a fee) to contribute to our newlywed fund. We understand if you'd rather do cash or check. At our reception, we will have a container where you can place envelopes. We'll also be providing envelopes, cards and a cup full of pens for your privacy and convenience.

Question

No dance floor?

Answer

We chose to prioritize food and drinks over a dancefloor, thus the space for the reception is too small to accommodate a full dance floor. So feel free bring something to pass time with each other after dinner. Lots of our guests play card games such as Magic the Gathering, Yugi-oh, and Dragonball. We might even be able to set up some smash bros since we'll also have a tv in the room. We'll see what happens, but we hope everyone will have fun together.

Question

So no music?

Answer

Despite not having a dance floor, we've been given permission to play music. For your comfort and that of the rest of the restaurants patrons, we'd play it at a lower volume.
