Clare and Evan’s story began thanks to a little hometown timing and the right people crossing paths. While Clare was visiting her mom at Ponderosa, Tracy Peterson came into the office and casually mentioned that Evan, a handsome Marine pilot, was home for Christmas. With encouragement from Clare’s mom, dad, and brother (both longtime fans of Evan from his theater days), Clare reached out. A day later, they met for drinks at Bistango’s in downtown Spokane, where conversation flowed easily, and connection came instantly. Coffee followed the next day, and when the date ended, neither quite knew how to say goodbye, with Evan heading back to Florida the next day. That’s when Clare’s cousin Carly let her know the whole family was gathered at Craft & Gather and insisted Evan had to come.
