My whole life I heard, “Sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them.” I never fully believed it until I met Evan. Everything changed in December 2023 when a Tri Delta semi-formal, a random date, and an instant connection turned into something so much more. We spent that night talking like we had known each other for years. A few days later, Evan asked me on our first date to Tacos and Tamales and the Stewart Family Christmas Lights. We went on two more dates that week and talked through Christmas break, both realizing something special was unfolding. On February 5, 2024, we made it official. From the beginning, Evan made me feel seen, valued, and completely adored. That semester was full of walks to class, date nights in Fayetteville, concerts, and plenty of “sweet treat runs.” That summer took us to Kansas City for Evan’s internship, where we explored a new city together and began dreaming about the future. We said "I love you" for the first time at my childhood home in Denton, Texas that summer as well! On June 14, Evan proposed at Edge of the Lake Winery and Vineyard in Valley View, Texas surrounded by our closest friends and family. It was the easiest “yes” of my life and one of the happiest days we have ever shared. A few months later, on September 25, Evan deployed with the United States Air Force. Though we’re apart for now, we’ve seen the Lord’s hand in every season, guiding us, strengthening us, and reminding us that His timing is always perfect. We’re so thankful for the story God is writing and can’t wait to celebrate His faithfulness and our love with all of you.
