For those not familiar with Greek wedding traditions, here’s some information on the ones we will be participating in! We encourage all guests, Greek or not, to participate 🤍 One tradition is the Greek Money Dance, which is how we will kick off the reception. While the new bride and groom dance, family and friends throw bills at the couple as a sort of blessing for prosperity. Family can also dance with the bride if they wish! Another tradition is the Greek circle dance, called a “Syrtos” or “Kalamatianós” dance. Here’s some examples! This takes place later in a reception, and is when men dance as guests clap along. It’s very much an “anything goes,” dance, just feel with your heart (and drink). The dress code for this event is cocktail attire. The theme of the wedding is fairytale, so if you would like, come in all things that make you feel that way! Florals, ruffles, flowing fabric, forest-inspired attire, and all things whimsical are encouraged. However, it’s not a necessity. Need inspo? Click the links!
