We recommend either flying into Lisbon or flying into nearby Faro. Lisbon: Lisbon is about a 3 hour train, bus, or drive from Tavira. Uber can take you from the Lisbon airport to Tavira for ~ 200€ + tolls. Trains and buses are quite affordable. Faro: There are direct flights from New York City to Faro in May. Faro is ~ 30 mins drive from Tavira and Ubers are available. You may also consider flying into Lisbon and connecting to Faro.
