What is the Kegel Family Homestead?

Answer

The Kegel Family Homestead is property in the Kegel Family Forest that has belonged to Eva's mom's side of the family since they first homesteaded in 1905. This is where Eva's parents got married (07/04/1998) and where her dad's ashes were spread. This is also where the annual Kegel Family Reunion is hosted. It is a sentimental place that represents family, love, and peace. We are so excited for you visit!

Yes! There is room for tents and RVs. You may stay Saturday night. Please note in your RSVP if you are wanting to spend the night at the venue.

Is there a dress code?

Wedding/Reception: Garden Party Casual: Floral prints, soft pastels, and breezy attire. Colors: Pastel shades, light neutrals, florals, and botanical patterns. NO WHITE. Suggested Attire: light, breathable materials; shoes suitable for grass; sun dresses; light jump suits; skirt and light blouse; chino or linen pants Happily Ever After Party: Whatever you are comfortable in!

Are pictures allowed during the wedding ceremony and reception?

We invite you to be fully present with us during our ceremony, so we kindly ask that all phones and cameras be turned off. Photos of our ceremony will be taken by our photographer. Please feel free to take as many pictures and videos as you'd like at the reception!

Yes! Please note any dietary restrictions on your RSVP.

Will there be alcohol served?

Answer

A drink will be provided for toasts. There will also be self-serve lemonade, water, and pre-mixed drinks. Feel free to bring your own drinks as well!

What is a money dance?

Answer

During our reception, you may join us for the Sayaw ng Pera (Money Dance or Prosperity Dance), a Filipino tradition that symbolizes love, support, and prosperity! At this time, guests may pin money or messages to the newlyweds during a dance.

What is the Happily Ever After Party?

Answer

A casual post-wedding celebration open to all of our friends and family on July 4th at the Kegel Family Homestead. You can expect music, food, drinks, volleyball, yard games, card games, board games, fun chats, and (weather permitting) a campfire and fireworks!
