We went here on our first date. Needless to say, we had a blast. The oreo coffee is a must try! Wilson says the best deal is to get the large and split :)
The first museum we visited together and where Wilson asked me out on many more future dates. They also have a very beautiful fountain in the Sculpture Garden that we highly recommend.
We got engaged here and the flowers were incredibly breathtaking.
The Library of Congress (LOC) is a research library in Washington, D.C., that serves as the library and research service of the U.S. Congress. The reading room is especially beautiful. You can make a library card, which is a fun experience!
We have had many walks to and from the Capitol Building. Our church is only six blocks away, so it would a fun place to explore after or before our ceremony. You can reach out to your congressional office to request a tour.
The Washington Monument dominates the DC skyline as a tribute to George Washington's military leadership, statesmanship, and wisdom. We walked along here on countless dates and enjoy make it a part of our morning runs. You can enter the monument and then ascend via elevator to the 500-foot level to behold sweeping views of the city.
We met at Capitol Hill Baptist Church and are both currently members here. If you are staying in the city until Sunday, we highly recommend attending the 10:30am service.
We went here for hot chocolate on our third date and have been back countless times for their gelato with friends and family. They also have amazing coffee!
La Cosecha is a contemporary Latin American marketplace that has amazing food options (including empanadas) and the coffee at UNIDO is one of my favorites in the city. Also, it is only a block away from Union market which is a great local food hall! This area also has a lot of restaurants and coffee shops to explore.
One of our favorite restaurants in the city, we love the tofu basil and fried chicken dish!
A great cafe for speciality lattes, a quick bite and baked goods! Their almond croissant is a personal favorite and they have multiple locations throughout the city.
Arguably the best cupcakes in town! You can also walk to the Georgetown waterfront park from the store and enjoy your cupcake with a view of the Potomac River.
A great place to people watch and enjoy the sun! We always like to walk down here after being on M street (where there are a lot fun shops/eateries).
A fun indoor/outdoor market with everything from food vendors to artisans. On Saturdays & Sunday, they have outdoor vendors and there is so much to see! There is a great coffee shop called Peregrine and the bagels at Bullfrog are a local favorite. Market Lunch (which is a vendor inside the building) have the best sandwiches and pancakes!
