Michael and I met volunteering at a clinic during our first year at the Medical College of Georgia. I needed a phone charger, and he happened to have one with a 10 ft cord. We became instant friends and hung out almost every day after class. My friends loved Michael and his sweet personality, so they started dropping hints for him to ask me out. After a couple months, he nervously called me on the phone and asked me on a date. We had a lovely brunch and then went to the anatomy lab after because we had an impending final exam.
Initially, I was really nervous about proposing, but I knew early on that she was the one. I wanted it to be perfect, so I reached out to Eunice's best friend Hemba for advice. I planned a date at Piedmont Park hoping she wouldn't suspect anything since we've had plenty of walks in the park before. However, Eunice quickly caught on that something was off because I was so nervous that I barely said a word. We reached the bridge where Hemba had everything set up for the proposal. Eunice didn't notice it at first because she was confused as to why Hemba was there. By the time she turned around, I was already on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes!
