Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your children but this is an adults-only event so moms and dads can have a night off. We're so grateful to all the parents for making sitter arrangements. Thank you for being understanding.

Question

*** REVISION***What's up with the Pre-Ceremony Friends & Family Photo Session?

Answer

If you are not familiar with Korean church weddings, let us enlighten you. Korean church ceremonies are promptly followed by staged photo sessions with the bride & grooms' friends. This is not a Wedding Party photo shoot; it is for our lovely friends & family who have come to celebrate our happy day with us. This can last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. During this time, strangers from the neighborhood will have scoped out the catering van in the church parking lot and will crash the reception, getting a head start on the buffet table. This usually leads to the dear friends & family to miss out on the best dishes and be stuck with eating leftovers. WE. ARE. NOT. ABOUT. THAT. We want our friends & family to be part of our wedding photos AND to enjoy the food, which is why if you are available and able, we would love for you to join us in the Friends & Family Photo Session before the ceremony at 4PM in the main chapel of FUMC. ***Originally, we strongly advised everyone to push all the old Korean aunties out of the way and make a beeline for the buffet line. While we still really like this recommendation, because this is a church wedding with a church reception, there will be a short grace (prayer for the meal) before everyone can eat. So, now we ask if everyone can first sit at your tables. Pastor John will say grace and then you can bum rush the buffet line and fix yourself a plate! *** Eat first. Then we'll have ourselves a dance party!
