[His] It was the first day of pharmacy school orientation. As I approached the entrance, I noticed a woman just ahead of me. I was about to introduce myself when, without a second thought, she let the door swing shut behind her, leaving me standing there. I was taken aback by her rudeness. Despite that, we became close friends, and after countless nights of studying at the library, I realized I had fallen for her. [Hers] As I walked through the double doors on my first day of graduate school, I was filled with the usual first-day jitters—wondering if I had remembered everything and if I would make any friends. In the midst of these preoccupied thoughts, I didn’t realize that I had let the door close behind me…on the very person who would become my future husband. Good thing he gave me a second chance when I first shared a fishbowl with him at Charley’s.
[His] Planning the surprise proposal was a challenge, given the list of her demands. I had to dodge her constant questions about when and how I was going to propose, all while secretly coordinating with a whole team of friends and family. Not to mention, she patted me down on the way to the gallery. This was just as I anticipated, which is why the ring was in the back seat. When the moment finally came, I suddenly lost the words that I meant to say. Thankfully, she still said yes. [Hers] For the first time ever, he questioned my outfit and my choice in sandals for a double date. Alert #1. Will is usually chatty, to the point where I realize he’s still talking when I tune back in. LOL. On the drive up, Will became a man of few words. Alert #2. I checked our friends’ locations and some were trailing behind us and others had theirs off. Alert #3. Clearly, logical reasoning was lacking. As we walked into the gallery, he guided me into an exhibit that was filled with each part of our lives—from our White Coat ceremony, to nights at Hopcat, and up to that very moment of our proposal.
