For hotel accommodations, we are offering a discounted rate for those interested in staying at the Charleston Hotel. If interested, please reserve via email: res@charlestonsantateresa.com. Mention that you need a room for the wedding group of Eugene and Catalina. For an authentic Cartagena experience, we recommend that you stay in Walled City/Getsemani. Alternatively, you can also explore Bocagrande. If you need advice on hotels, you can rely on our team of wedding planners for assistance. _ Por favor, planifica tu propio transporte hasta el hotel el día de la celebración. What is the easiest way to get around Cartagena?/ ¿Cuál es la forma más fácil de moverse por Cartagena?

If you are staying within the Walled City, everything is walking distance! We encourage you to walk and explore the city. However, if you prefer the comfort of a car ride, then we suggest using Uber. Make sure to download the UBER app and link it to a credit card with no foreign transaction fees prior to travel. - Si te alojas dentro de la Ciudad Amurallada, ¡todo está a poca distancia a pie! Te animamos a caminar y explorar la ciudad. Sin embargo, si prefiere la comodidad de un viaje en automóvil, le sugerimos usar Uber. What currency is used in Colombia?

The Colombian Peso. Remember that the meaning of periods and commas in numbers is reverse of that in the USA. For example, $ 10.000 or ten thousand Colombian Pesos (COP) equals roughly $2.5 Dollars. While most places in Cartagena accept credit cards, you will need cash for taxis (if not using Uber) and to purchase items from street vendors and mom-and-pop shops. You will also need cash if you're planning to take a day trip outside of the city.

Short answer is, yes! Cartagena is one of the most visited and safest city in all of Colombia. Like any international tourist destination, "no des papaya" - meaning don't make yourself an easy target for pickpocketing. - La respuesta corta es, ¡sí! Do I need a Passport?-

To enter Colombia, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, since you are traveling to Colombia in February 2024, your passport must be valid through August 2024. American citizens do not need a Visa to visit Colombia.
