We met through Union softball and baseball, and then further got to know each other through a mutual friend (thanks Cameron). I (Ethan) was very nervous and shy but he didn't know I (Sydney) had been feeding information to our mutual friend (little did I know, she had already been crushing on me). Eventually, Cameron forced me (Ethan) to text me (Syd). We went on a 4 hour walk for our first date, and at the end of it, I (Syd) left in the most awkward way possible and was sure he was never going to talk to me again. But I (Ethan) thought it was hilarious and adorable, and now here we are.
From Ethan's perspective: I had planned a full day for the both of us to enjoy, and I had to keep it all secret from her, and it was killing me. We left Jackson and drove to Franklin to visit Honest Coffee, a shop we had both been wanting to try. We then drove to Crockett Park in Brentwood, where Syd had grown up playing softball and the two of us had spent time together disc golfing (she was hilarious). There's a cute house that we walked up to and I proposed on the porch. We were freezing but it was the best and sweetest time. From Syd's perspective: E drove us home to Brentwood for a "birthday party" for Sam and I. I was hopeful that he was going to pop the question but was not entirely sure. He drove us to a cute coffee shop in Franklin and we walked around a bit there. Then we headed to Crockett Park "to play disc golf." I was stretching and getting ready to beat him then he started walking me towards this beautiful house/wedding venue. We stood on the front porch and I looked over at him on one knee. It was the happiest and sweetest moment that I will never forget.
