The Saturday Market is the oldest open-air crafts market in the US. The perfect place to shop for locally handmade goods & listen to live music. There's also a farmers market with local produce and treats. It's hard to leave the market without buying something!
A beautiful garden with over 400 varieties of roses, nestled right in the Whiteaker (our neighborhood) and near the river walking path.
Located on the river and near Autzen stadium, Alton Baker Park has plenty of trails to walk on. This is where Cuthbert Amphitheater is located as well, so check their website to see if there are any shows the weekend of our wedding!
If you're looking for a moderate to hard, short but steep hike, this is a beautiful trail. It takes you to the highest point in Eugene where you have panoramic views.
You can drive to the top of this butte. Warning: this is where the teenagers like to go to smoke weed, but just ignore them to get views of the city.
The best Italian restaurant in town! Every dish is delicious. This place is small though and can have long wait times so it is not meant for big parties.
Our favorite place to have a nice dinner. Delicious French inspired cuisine. Reservations recommended.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in town. If you love homemade dumplings and noodles, you have to go here!
A yummy Korean restaurant right in our neighborhood. Good food & drinks and an incredibly friendly staff.
Another restaurant in the Whit (can you tell we don't really leave our neighborhood?). Huge grinder sandwiches with a cute patio out back.
This is our favorite French pastry shop in town. They have a case of desserts that's almost impossible to choose from. You will probably want to get a few things! Rachel's favorite is the Josephine and Ethan's is any slice of cheesecake.
Sushi restaurant with a fun indoor atmosphere.
Our favorite spot to go for a fried fish sandwich or Dungeness crab basket. Crab season sometimes lasts through the summer so definitely get some Dungeness crab while you're in Oregon!
Small batch brewery with lots of food trucks and indoor/outdoor seating. All of the beer at our wedding was from here!
Similar to Oakshire Public House. Large taproom with lots of food trucks and indoor/outdoor seating.
Oaxacan food truck. Everything is delicious but our favorite is the Machete Oaxaqueno.
Perfect place to stop for pastries or a sit down breakfast.
Locally-sourced vegetarian restaurant. We've only had breakfast here but it's so good. It can get very busy so be prepared to wait for a table.
The best ice cream in town. Try their marionberry ice cream, if they have any left!
Vintage pinball and arcade machines with a full bar.
Locally owned cinema right in downtown Eugene.
It was a surprise to us when we moved here but the Willamette Valley in Oregon is home to more than 500 wineries and known for its world class Pinot noir. This is just one winery we've been to. Great views and you can create your own charcuterie plate!
Easy one mile hike through the forest that leads to a hidden beach.
Come at low tide to see the tide pools!
About an 1 hr 45 min from Eugene, this is our favorite spot to bring out of town guests. You can drive up to the lookout for amazing views of the Oregon coast, or walk down onto the rocks to see tide pools, Thors Well, and Devils Churn. Just always remember to have your eye on the ocean because those waves don't mess around!
This was the very first place we ate during our first time on the coast and have probably been back 20 times now. Located in adorable Yachats, they have the best fried scallops, fried cod, and Slumgullion soup.
Beautiful 3.9 mile round trip hike through an old-growth Douglas fir forest and old lava flow rocks. The trail ends at the turquoise Tamolitch Pool.
An easy 2.6 mile loop trail connects Koosah and Sahalie Falls. The hike borders the McKenzie River through towering forest.
The second highest waterfall in Oregon. You can view the falls from an observation platform near the parking lot or take a short hike for multiple vantage points.
