Ethan and I have known each other for most of our lives. We grew up at the same church since we were little. Fast forward to junior year in high school and prom was right around the corner. I decided to ask Ethan to go with me so he could hang out with me and my friends. In January of 2016, I asked him to go to the prom with me (he said yes of course)! After I asked him, we started texting almost every day. We started hanging out more, just the two of us, whether it be going to the movies or to Chick-fil-A for dinner. Then, on May 25th of 2016, Ethan invited me to go with him to take his cousin to Wetumpka. After we dropped his cousin off, Ethan and I headed back home. We talked and laughed which allowed us to get to know each other better. On the way home, we were stopped at a red light and Ethan turns to me and says "Are you ready for the million dollar question? Will you officially be my girlfriend?" I of course said yes! We both graduated high school in 2017, and we were both planning on going to college in the fall. Ethan at Auburn and me and JSU. We knew it was not going to be easy being long distance because we were so used to seeing each other almost every day. It took some time to adjust to being long distance, but we would facetime everyday and see each other on weekends. We have been long distance for almost 4 years and distance has definitely made the heart grow fonder. This past summer, my family decided to take a family beach trip in August. This is when Ethan decided this was the time he was going to propose to me. It was finally time for the trip and I just think it is a normal beach trip. On Sunday, August 9th, my family decided we wanted to take family pictures down on the beach. So, as we are taking pictures, I noticed my brother looking off to the side and smiling. I turn around and there is Ethan. I WAS SO SURPRISED! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was truly the best day of my life! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
