Question

Dress code? What do I wear?

Answer

Celebrate yourself, have fun and show out! Dress to impress,: Let’s make this a night of glitz and glamour, pull out your finest formal wear and prepare to shine. polished resort wear. No need for black tie, but leave the flip-flops and shorts for a day by the pool! *Reception will be air conditioned. Our ceremony will be held outdoors.

Question

Weather? Perfect.

Answer

February in Cartagena is the "Dry season" averaging 0 days of rain and always between 80-90 F, with "lower" humidity. We recommend packing a portable high powered fan (especially for immigration at the airport, so keeping it in your carry on is advised): Portable Fan Option: Nicolle recommends the $20 Diveblues Portable Handheld Turbo Fan https://a.co/d/4oAcfQZ

Question

Do I need to apply for a VISA? Customs?

Answer

For US Citizens: No! There is no need to apply for additional visa from the USA to Colombia. Your passport must be valid for a few months prior to the time of entry and for the duration of your stay. Colombians coming from the US: If you are a dual citizen of the U.S. and Columbia, be sure to bring both your American and Colombian passports for entry and exit. Customs can take up to 2 hours queuing in line, in a packed, lightly air conditioned space. We recommend planning ahead for this wait time by refilling a water bottle prior & having portable fans handy in your carry ons. *If you're able to sign up for wheel chair accessibility for this flight into Cartagena, Colombia, it can help getting through the customs line faster and save you from standing.

Question

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

Answer

IF YOU WANT CASH: Bancolombia: good exchange rate and wide acceptance of US cards at ATMs. Hotel Caribe offers a reasonable exchange at the concierge desk. Airport: rates are probably better than exchanging at a exchange desk close to the hotel. U.S. Banks: check with your bank to see if they offer foreign currency exchange services before your trip. CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS AND APPLE PAY ARE WIDELY ACCEPTED You may still need some cash for things you buy on the street or in some restaurants/small shops/if you choose to take a taxi that is not uber/lyft and tips etc.)

Question

Using Uber/Lyft in Cartagena?

Answer

Yes-you can use UBER/LYFT to get around securely (we recommend it) and it is customary for locals to use Lyft/Uber to get around Cartagena. The 15 min drive from Hotel Caribe to the Walled City with Uber is around $8-$12 USA dollars
