Question

Answer

Preferably as soon as possible; for ceremony attendance: by June 2023 for ceremony and reception attendance: by May 2023

Question

Where should we stay during our visit?

Answer

We recommend doing what is more comfortable for you. There are many options in terms of AirBnb Rentals, VRBO rentals, hotels and RV rentals. If you would like to, you may request teaming up with other wedding guests! We will help yall get in touch with one another. An RV rental is an awesome choice for those looking to explore the state and not be locked down with having to stay the night in the same location. If this is an option you are looking at, we HIGHLY suggest a current edition of the Milepost magazine to help lead your adventures. Hotel and Vacation home rentals are perfect for those looking to either wind down and enjoy a well deserved vacation or explore the local area and have the amenities of home. If you choose to be stationary with your housing, we would suggest finding a place in the southern Anchorage, nearby the Alaska Zoo.

Question

What should we wear or bring?

Answer

Alaska weather is constantly changing. While July is typically sunny and warm, we strongly recommend bringing a lightweight jacket to stay warm and dry. Layer up with light base layers for those warm summer days but be able to throw on that jacket if the wind starts blowing or a rain cloud decides to appear. Great shoes are essential to a great trip. If you plan on staying and exploring towns, a pair of tennis shoes will work great! Plan on exploring more off the beaten path? Hiking shoes and a pair of good socks will serve you better. Plan on getting wet! *Ladies, while heels may look fabulous, you may want to try and find a pair of shoes that will not be ruined by dirt, mud, water, etc. for the wedding. Come and be comfortable and enjoy your dancing feet all night long!

Question

What are your wedding colors?

Answer

Dusty rose, sage green, soft yellow and dark brown

Question

What about bears and moose?

Answer

If you plan on seeing bears and moose, you better go to the Alaska Zoo or the Wildlife Conservation Center. However, there is the off chance that you will see or encounter some wildlife. We take precautions while going walking, hiking or biking as we live next to the mountains and frequently have bears in our area. We carry bear bells as well as bear spray. Bear bells are there to make noise so as not to startle a bear/moose if you come upon them. Talking, playing music, making noise etc does the same job. Bear Bells can be easily found at all sporting goods locations. Bear Spray is our second method of defense. If you need bear spray, we recommend that you buy it here in Alaska at Costco or any outdoor sporting goods store. Airlines may prohibit you from checking bear spray in your luggage. If you have questions about bear/moose protection don't hesitate to ask!
