It was March 2012 when Michelle first saw Ethan at church. She was with her best friend TK and she thought he was "so cute". Ethan was there with another girl and after church TK and Michelle decided to look him up on Facebook and see if he was dating her. His profile was private, but TK added him as a friend on Michelle's profile without telling her. Michelle forgot all about Ethan until September 2012, when Ethan messaged her an innocent "what's up". Ethan decided to message Michelle when he was scrolling through Facebook and saw a video of Michelle singing along to Taylor Swift's “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and thought “that girl has spunk”. After countless texts and skype dates, Ethan and Michelle decided to have their first face-to-face date in Portland at a Halloween event called Fright Town. During their date, Michelle knew Ethan was scared of clowns and ratted him out to the most terrifying clown in the event. The clown chased Ethan during the entire event and he thought “this girl is fun as hell, no one else would have done that to me”. Jumping forward to November 4th, after their first party together Ethan made it official and asked Michelle to be his girlfriend as they both knew this was something special. After dating six months, Ethan knew Michelle was leaving for college soon and wanted to make it clear he was in it for the long run. Ethan gave Michelle a promise ring and told her “I know it’s going to be a while before an engagement ring comes, but I know you are the one” to which Michelle replied “I will marry you after 7 years” and so they did.
