Our Love Story

Together through every season

Marissa and Ethan met in 2019, right after finishing their freshman year of high school. At the time, they were attending rival schools in Oshkosh — Marissa at Oshkosh West and Ethan at Oshkosh North. What started as an unexpected connection soon grew into a meaningful friendship. Before romance, there was friendship. For nearly a year, they were inseparable best friends. Ethan became the person Marissa trusted most — the one she turned to for everything. They talked every day, sharing life, laughter, and encouragement. Sports were at the center of their lives, with Marissa dedicating herself to softball and Ethan to baseball, yet their bond continued to grow stronger through it all. As high school sweethearts, their relationship grew alongside them. On February 13, 2021, Ethan asked Marissa to be his girlfriend in a way that perfectly captured their story — with a softball he had written on, asking her to be his girl forever. From that moment on, they chose each other every day. Throughout high school, they spent every moment they could together. Marissa rarely missed a baseball game, always cheering Ethan on, while he supported her softball journey just as wholeheartedly. Sports demanded much of their time, but their commitment to each other never wavered. They graduated from high school side by side, proud of how far they had come together. College brought new challenges, including two years of long-distance. Though miles apart, Marissa and Ethan remained deeply connected. Those years strengthened their communication, trust, and understanding, teaching them what it truly means to choose one another through every season of life. In 2024, Ethan asked Marissa to marry him, turning years of friendship, love, and shared growth into a promise of forever. Soon after, Ethan moved to La Crosse to be with Marissa as she finished college and her softball career. Together, they faced challenges, celebrated unforgettable highs, and continued to grow stronger. In 2026, Ethan stood proudly by Marissa’s side as she graduated from college — a moment that reflected the support and partnership they had built over the years. Shortly after, they made the decision to return to their hometown, excited to begin the next chapter of their lives where it all began. What started as a friendship between two athletes from rival schools has grown into a love rooted in trust, commitment, and unwavering support. Marissa and Ethan are so excited to celebrate their marriage on May 29, 2027, surrounded by the family and friends who have been part of their journey every step of the way.
