Just a short drive from the venue, this park has AMAZING views! On top of the bluff, you can see the Mississippi River. A short easy flat walk, you could do in your attire!
A beautiful winery made to look like Italy. A must see!
The downtown is ridiculously charming! Filled with shops, ice cream places and a lock dam, you could wander around for a while and not get bored!
Great ice cream and the most precious garden out back!
We checked this out ourselves and it’s a beautiful center and museum that is also home to several injured eagles. Paid entry.
For the true adventurers. A 30 minute scenic drive along the Mississippi will lead you to this small town that houses this pie shop. It won the #1 pie shop in America by USA Today. We went and tried it ourselves! WELL worth it.
Very well known ice cream and sandwich shop! They also have a vast cheese and wine store. If you have mentioned you are headed to this part of the state, you’ve probably heard someone ask if you plan to check out the creamery!
Our ultimate favorite thing to do in the area is just drive Hwy 35 long the river. This infamous drive is also known as “The Great River Road”. Nothing beats looking to one side and seeing a towering bluff and the other side, a river filled with wildlife. You will see eagles and swans over the Mississippi, small little bakeries, niche small town shops, and the most incredible views of the bluffs as you go. If you enjoy this as much as we do, check out the Minnesota side as well.
Take a drive from Alma and cross the Mississippi on the beautiful blue bridge and you will find yourself right above downtown Wabasha. Beginning under the bridge, you will see a small street stretch of coffee shops, and small businesses and a beautiful walk along the river.
