FAQs

Question

When should I book my travel and accommodations?

Answer

We suggest booking flights and accommodations as early as possible to get the best prices—ideally 3 to 6 months in advance, especially since Hawaii is a popular destination.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend looking for accommodations in Waikiki, especially if it's your first time visiting Oʻahu. Waikiki is an affordable and convenient option. It’s close to the airport, full of great restaurants, shops, beautiful beaches, and plenty to explore. Waikiki is about a 40-minute drive from our wedding venue, so you’ll need a rental car or transportation arranged to get to and from the event. Kailua is another great option. It's about a 30-minute drive from the wedding site and offers a more laid-back, beach-town vibe with stunning scenery and local charm.

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

Our wedding will be on a Thursday so if your schedule allows it we recommend planning to arrive the weekend before the wedding so you can get a good amount of time on the island. But if your schdule does not allow it I would plan my trip to be in Hawaii at least two days before the wedding so arriving on the Tuesday before the wedding.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We highly recommend renting a car during your stay in Hawaii. It’s the most convenient way to get around the island, especially for getting from the airport to your accommodations and to the wedding venue. While taxis and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are available, they can be limited in some areas and tend to be more expensive. Renting a car often ends up being the more flexible and cost-effective option for exploring the island at your own pace.
