Man of honor & Officiant
Being a woman in STEM often means breaking traditions, like swapping a Maid of Honor for a Man of Honor! Alek is Hengameh’s best friend and roommate throughout graduate school. He is a brilliant string theorist, puzzle room enthusiast and the best Christmas treasure hunt riddler. Since he knows both of us so well, he’ll be pulling double duty: standing by our side and officiating our ceremony!
Roger Van Peski
Best Man
Roger is Ethan’s friend from graduate school and our Best Man. He is an avid hiker, as seen in this photo taken deep on the Arizona trails. Apparently, it was impossible to find a photo of these two together without a girlfriend present to force them into the frame. That is male friendship for you!
Arthur Tsang
Groomsman
Arthur and Ethan go way back, having been friends and roommates since their undergraduate days and throughout graduate school. He is joining our wedding party all the way from Copenhagen as a Groomsman. Arthur is also the one person who has consistently managed to outshine Ethan on the climbing wall! As you can see from this cropped photo, the male friendship stereotype holds true here, as well. I simply could not find a better photo of these two close friends together!
Esther Goldberger
Bridesmaid
Esther is another physicist best friend and the only woman in our wedding party. She is my all-time Boston climbing buddy and another avid hiker in the group. She is a fantastic host and chef, and she helped me pick out my wedding dress (Don't worry, the photo shared is not the dress I actually chose, much to her disappointment. You will still be surprised!)
Cannon Vogel
Bridesman
Yet another tradition broken as Cannon joins the wedding party as a Bridesman. He and Hengameh are best friends, fellow Harry Potter fans, and both hold physics PhDs in cosmology. While they share a love for the stars, the strongest bond in their friendship was forged during their undergraduate years as lab partners. Iykyk! ;)

Virtual Maid of Honor
Arefe is my all-time best friend, and we have been inseparable since middle school in Iran! A brilliant visual artist now living in London, she is the creative force behind every plan and choice I made for this wedding. She deserves to be recognized alongside our wedding party for everything she has done and all she means to me.
