Flight

Rome Airport (FCO)

From Rome (Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, also known as Fiumicino or FCO) Florence is an easy train ride (see below) or short connecting flight away. We highly recommend using Google Flights to explore multiple airlines at once and determine the route that works best for you.

Milan Airport (MXP)

Much like Rome, Milan has a larger airport than Florence and is a one hour and 40 minute train ride away. Depending on you're flying from, it may be cheaper to go into Milan.

Florence Airport (FLR)

The alternative is to fly directly into Florence (Peretola Airport also known as Italian Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola or FLR). While this is a smaller airport than Rome, it may be worth the convenience of arriving directly in Florence.

Train

Italia Rail

If you fly into Rome, there is a high-speed rail line from Rome to Florence (look for Roma Termini - Firenze Santa Maria Novella) that costs about 50 USD and takes 1.5 hours.
