How We Met

Hi! & Thanks for visiting our wedding website. We first laid eyes on each other in the halls of Tyrone High school after Ethan transferred to Tyrone from Juniata Valley. Little did he know, that move not only got him a better basketball record, but also the first looks at his future wife. Though I loved Ethan from a far, attended all of his basketball games and thought he was the most handsome man I’d ever seen, I never made a move and we never dated in high school. A few years later, during my senior year of undergrad, we crossed paths at a local wing off and began dating on & off from there. Up until that point in my life, I had not felt the love that I felt for Ethan. Given those feelings I knew he had to be the one. As the years went on our relationship grew. We enjoy trips to Delaware to fish for sharks, and craft breweries where we can try new beers.

The Proposal

“Do you really want to marry me?”

Speaking of Delaware, this is where Ethan chose to propose. He scheduled an impromptu “fishing trip”, where we had awful weather that was not entirely conducive to sitting on the shore for hours. Our good friends joined us on the trip, and assisted Ethan in the proposal plan. We went to a local brewery for dinner and then headed to Cape Henlopen for what I thought, was to show our friends a new spot. As we sped up the hill, I was concerned that our friends weren’t getting to experience the sights at all, as the sun was quickly setting. We got to top of the cape overlook and walked a sandy path down to the beach. As Ethan & I were standing for a photo with the sun setting over the ocean as our backdrop, Ethan said, “wait a second, I have a cramp in my hip”. I turned my head to fix my hair and when I turned back, he was down on one knee presenting me with the most perfect ring. In this emotional moment, Ethan had no words. I took the ring, hugged him and said, “Do you really want to marry me?” Basically I asked him to marry me... the background to the story is, we have a phenomenal picture of the two of us from one of our very first trips to Delaware with an amazing sunset behind us. Ethan’s goal was to recreate this scene but this time with a proposal. It was perfect & beautiful and our friends came prepared with champagne & glasses to celebrate right there on the beach. I had waited for that moment for quite sometime and it was more than I could have imagined. Today, Ethan and I continue to improve our home of 3 years in which we share with our Great Dane, Kosch, and our kitty, Warbs. Thanks for reading our story and we look forward to sharing in the next chapter together.
