The Meeting's'... (yes, plural)

Spring 2016

We actually had a couple "run ins" before that "the rest was history" moment. April 23- A band was playing at Lock Stock & Barrell (LSB) here in Decatur. I stopped by to see some friends and shortly after, Ethan walked in with a mutual friend. (Yes, we met at a bar...) He walked up to me and made small talk then started flirting(aka lobster pinching my leg). When we all decided to leave, Ethan's friend asked where they were going from there and Ethan replied "I'm going wherever she's going." (He didn't, for the record) As we walked out, I looked at my friend and asked "WHY on earth was he pinching my leg?" What do they say about first impressions?... May 7- Two weeks later... Again, more music at LSB and we were both there with the same friends as the first run in. For a brief second I remember standing there by myself and in swooped Ethan with a one-liner he was very proud of(and I believe another lobster leg pinch) - "If you were here with me, I wouldn't leave you here alone to dance by yourself." And then he walked off. Needless to say, I was still a little weirded out... but equally curious. May 14- So a week later... After these two funny run-ins, our friends set us up on somewhat of a casual "blind date," even though it wasn't completely blind. We all met at LSB(yes, again) to all just hang out as a group for the night. This time it took a couple hours before Ethan would say a word to me. Who would have thought? Once we both finally got over the nerves, we started chatting... And here's where you'd say "the rest is history."

The Proposal

December 31, 2018

We celebrated New Years Eve with close friends, food, drinks, and games. Around 11:30 PM, we all started taking pictures with a cute festive backdrop and props. During part of this photoshoot, (while I was taking the posing very seriously) two friends were revealing a hidden message within the photo backdrop. When I turned around to see why they were making so much noise, I saw "Marry Me" on the backdrop and Ethan got down on one knee. Shortly after, we banged pots and pans and popped bottles of champagne to ring in the New Year. I think it's safe to say, 2019 might be our best year yet.
