Cassie's Crow of Honor
Pronouns: (All pronouns - He/she/they) Cassie and Alex first crossed paths when Cassie joined the research faculty at Parker University, where Alex was involved in some of the ongoing research. Under the guise of 'professional development,' Alex invited Cassie out for coffee, though they had already accurately pegged her as a fellow queer in science and medicine. Since then, Alex has become an invaluable friend, offering unwavering support in everything from professional growth and personal development to existential musings, horror movie critiques, unsolicited roast sessions, and the pursuit of physical fitness. Alex celebrates Cassie's wins probably harder than she does, and witnessing the unconditional love Alex has for the people around them is mesmerizing. Their depth extends beyond just being a good friend; Alex is also passionate about music, social justice, and expanding their worldview. They are the only other person Cassie has met who matches her enthusiasm for sending unsolicited forehead pictures, and they are always there when Cassie needs them, matching her drive, care, and depth in every endeavor. Cassie couldn't be more confident in a person to have her back on such an important day.
Tyler's Crow of Honor
Pronouns: (She/her) Destinee (Des) and Tyler’s friendship had an unusual beginning, thanks to a little nudging from their Home Depot boss, Kim. Initially, they had a classic masc lesbian standoff, but fate (and the inevitable magic of bathroom friendships) brought them together, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Fun fact: despite being colorblind, Des somehow ended up working in the paint department—thank the universe for digital color matching. Des and her girlfriend, Sophia, seamlessly integrated into Cassie and Tyler’s lives, and Tyler’s favorite memories with Des include those unforgettable summer nights spent in the pool, plus all their wonderfully low-key hangouts, whether it’s just dinner or hours of conversation on the couch. Des’s easygoing vibe makes her Tyler’s ideal friend; they’re both up for anything but can never quite decide what that “anything” will be—cue Cassie stepping in to make the call! So, when Cassie asked Tyler who she wanted standing beside her on their big day, Tyler didn’t hesitate for even a second: it had to be Des.

Pronouns: (He/him) Sean and Cassie go way back—back to middle school, but it was in high school theatre that their friendship really cemented. Alongside Riah, they became an unbreakable trio, “the three musketeers,” and ever since, Sean has been an unwavering source of support in Cassie’s life. From wild weekends at Texas A&M, where Cassie and Riah would drive hours just to party in the penthouse, to nine-hour road trips to Memphis with Haley by his side, Sean is always there, ready to show up for Cassie no matter what. His loyalty and love are constants, and every get-together is another reminder of how much he’d do for her. The most rambunctious, hilariously outlandish person Cassie knows, Sean lights up every room he enters (and if you hear strange monkey or bird noises, you can bet they’re coming from him). Cassie couldn’t be more thankful to have him by her side, on her wedding day and always.
Member of the Murder
Pronouns: (She/her) Sarah isn’t just Tyler’s cousin; she’s the closest thing to a sibling Tyler’s ever had, and they share a lifetime of cherished memories together. Growing up as only children only drew them closer, from making pancakes with their Mumph to spending nearly every moment outside and unsupervised, inventing their own adventures. Now, as adults, they’re just as close—always on the go, whether they’re diving into spontaneous plans or lost in one of their endless, in-depth conversations. Sarah is hands down one of the funniest people Cassie and Tyler know, with a rare gift for turning any gathering into a great time. She possesses a unique sense of style and powerful energy, effortlessly pulling off any look and filling the space in any room to make people feel welcome. With Sarah being such an essential part of Tyler’s childhood, it’s only fitting that she stands by her side on her wedding day, bringing their beautiful journey full circle.

Pronouns: (She/her) Haley and Cassie first met in high school theatre, but it was in adulthood that their friendship truly deepened, making Haley's presence on Cassie’s wedding day absolutely essential. Picture moss green, mushrooms, frogs, and her nose always buried in a book—Haley has this whole earthy academia vibe, and it suits her perfectly. Haley is debatably the member of our murder who is most likely to be distracted by a shiny trinket, and Cassie and Tyler love her even more for it. She and Cassie grew closer when Haley and Sean (high school sweethearts!) started dating, and over the years, Haley has become one of Cassie’s absolute favorite people on earth. Haley’s top-rated character skills include: adorably awkward flirting with pretty girls, the cutest and most fun earrings, being an amazing gift-giver, and, unexpectedly, a weirdly intense love for UFC. Fun fact: she even shares a name with the polar bear at the Memphis Zoo. In a heartfelt twist of fate, Haley recently asked Cassie to be her Maid-of-Honor as she prepares to marry Sean in October 2024—a moment so touching that it left Cassie in tears. Sharing these milestones has made their friendship even more special, and Cassie couldn’t be happier to have her whimsical, one-of-a-kind, and endlessly loyal friend Haley by her side on her wedding day.

Pronouns: (She/her) Tyler and Ryan’s friendship began in the most unexpected place: criminal justice camp at Sam Houston State during high school. Tyler was rocking highlighter neon colors (a phase we can all chalk up to youth), and somehow, Ryan found that appealing, leading to an instant connection. From that moment on, Ryan has been a positive force in Tyler’s life, always there to lend an ear or talk things through. When Tyler faced the unimaginable loss of her dad at 18, Ryan became an invaluable support, having experienced a similar loss at a young age herself. Their closeness emerged as one of the silver linings in a difficult situation, and no matter how much time passes, they always pick up right where they left off. Over the past few years, Tyler has had the privilege of being part of Ryan's journey as she got married and welcomed her first child. Now, Tyler is thrilled to invite Ryan to be a significant part of her wedding day, celebrating their enduring friendship and the journey they've shared together.

Pronouns: (She/her) Riah and Cassie have been inseparable since high school, after meeting in the most classic way two girls can—striking up a friendship in the bathroom and never looking back. From then on, they lived together for half of high school, bonded through countless theatre rehearsals, late nights, and shared dreams. Riah’s family and friends reflected her kindness perfectly, welcoming Cassie with open arms and making her feel like part of the family. After high school, they both moved up to Dallas for college—Cassie to UTA and Riah to Wesleyan—where they continued making memories together. Most of Cassie’s favorites include drinking wine on the floor of Riah's college apartment or eating at Blue Sushi in downtown Fort Worth, a spot that quickly became their go-to and remains their favorite sushi place to go to together to this day. Now, Cassie has had the privilege of sharing nearly half her life with Riah, building countless memories and always being each other’s closest confidante. Last year, Cassie had the honor of standing by Riah’s side as she married the love of her life, and now, she couldn’t be more grateful to have Riah by her side on her own wedding day.

Pronouns: (He/him) Jack is one of those enigmatic figures who’s just always been around—like a friendly ghost you can’t quite place. He went to high school with Cassie, Sean, Riah, and Haley, and he’s somehow woven himself into the fabric of their lives over the years. Jack has shared countless adventures, from being Sean’s roommate in college to now living in Dallas alongside both Sean and Haley. Tyler and Jack’s friendship blossomed through Sean and Cassie, and now they’ve become inseparable. Leave them alone for too long, and you’re likely to find them huddled in a corner, giggling and whispering about either the silliest things imaginable or something slightly nefarious. Jack is literally one of the kindest souls Cassie and Tyler have ever met, with a goofy laugh that’s utterly infectious. Fun fact: Jack has a quirky code glitch—he simply cannot turn down an invitation to a wedding, no matter what! No, seriously, ask him! Having him by their side on this special day is a true joy, and his unique charm and humor make him an irreplaceable part of the celebration!
