Question

What do I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Please refer to the “Guest attire inspo” tab as there is a mandatory dress code and photo examples. The theme is "Black tie optional".

Question

What does Black Tie (optional) mean?

Answer

"Black tie optional" strikes a balance between elegance and comfort. It suggests a formal atmosphere while allowing guests to choose a slightly less formal outfit if they prefer. Guests can opt for a tuxedo or evening gown to fit the grand theme, but a black suit or mid/floor length dress is acceptable too.

Question

What day do I need to arrive?

Answer

The minimum booking stay is 3 days. All booking info can be found at themonroewedding.hola-weddings.com Some guests are arriving Tuesday (17th) and leaving on Friday (20th). Some guests are traveling on Wednesday (18th) and leaving Saturday (21st) the dates are up to you! We will be staying until Sunday. Keep in mind Wednesday evening we plan to host a welcome cocktail party, so if you are traveling Wednesday, you may miss it! See travel and itinerary tab for additional information.

Question

How will the weather be?

Answer

In June, Tulum typically experiences warm and humid weather. Average temperatures range from the mid-70s°F at night to 90s°F during the day. There's a chance of rain, as June marks the beginning of the rainy season, but most days are still sunny. It’s a good idea to pack lightweight clothing, and a light rain jacket just in case. Umbrellas are provided at the resort.

Question

Do I need to bring pesos?

Answer

You can bring pesos, but it’s not necessary. We typically bring small dollar bills for tips for waiters, drivers and service. While pesos are good, they aren’t required. Dollars are perfectly acceptable. If you plan to shop off-resort, cash or pesos is useful, but debit and credit cards are accepted at most places and for booking excursions. There is an ATM on-site, but the fees for using it can be quite high.

Question

What is an all inclusive?

Answer

Dreams Tulum is an all-inclusive resort. "All-inclusive" offers guests a package that includes, meals, drinks (including alcohol), and various activities or entertainment at the resort. This means you won’t have to worry about additional costs for food, drinks, or certain amenities during your stay. The cost is included with your room booking.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

For the wedding, please refer to the attire tab for details on the wedding dress code. For the beach and pool, don’t forget to pack sunscreen, aloe vera, bug spray, any necessary medications, a hat, sandals, a waterproof phone pouch and a floaty if you’d like! There is a gift shop there for items forgotten but be weary the pricing is resort pricing.

Question

Hotel Accommodations?

Answer

We have partnered with HolaWeddings as our travel agent. We have a hotel block set up for your convenience, so please use this site to book your stay, as it guarantees your attendance at the wedding. Hotel information is available on themonroewedding.hola-weddings.com Our travel agent, Diana can assist with any questions regarding the hotel or shuttle to the hotel - please use the "Contact Hola Weddings" link on the Monroe wedding website to contact her by email or by phone, at 1-888-472-7077 or +525510361373. You will also receive an email immediately after booking your stay that you can reply to with any question or concern! The sooner you RSVP and book the easier it will be for us to continue our planning.

Question

Bedding Preferences for hotel room?

Answer

Are subject to availability, unless the room category includes the bedding type in the name (example: Junior Suite King Bed or Junior Suite Double beds). Usually, if you have a preference for bedding guest will need to send HolaWeddings an email or call and include the request on the reservation. But do keep in mind that it will be subject to availability upon arrival.

Question

How do I get to the resort?

Answer

Your round-trip transportation is automatically added to your hotel reservation; it is $249 per room reservation. You are NOT required to use their transportation. If you do not book your transportation with HolaWeddings please contact Diana to remove it from your reservation. If you'd like to compare other shuttles, we recommend NexusTours at www.nexustours.com as they have pretty good prices round trip. We recommend a private shuttle option from Cancun International Airport to Dreams Tulum. Feel free to explore other transportation options; we’ve used Nexus multiple times without any issues. Other notable companies include Amstar and USA Transfers, though we haven't used them personally. The ride to the resort takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, so sit back, relax, and take a nap to recharge for the weekend ahead!

Question

Will I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! The passport process can be lengthy, it can take up to six weeks to process. You can complete the entire process at the post office, but be sure to make an appointment through the USPS website, ASAP as they are booking a month out already!

Question

When should I get my airline ticket?

Answer

It’s a great idea to track your travel dates for the best flight deals! Waiting too long can lead to higher prices. We typically fly direct from SFO to Cancun with United or Alaska airlines, but any airlines that you feel comfortable with will work.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate together! We’re keeping the guest list small, so we won’t be able to accommodate plus ones if they are not otherwise noted on the invitation. While they are more than welcome to attend to the resort with you, we will not be able to host more guest at the wedding.

What is there to do in Tulum?

Answer

While there are many things to see in Tulum you can also find many things to do at the resort during your stay!

Question
