We first crossed paths as high school interns at New City Kids—he a bass guitar teacher, and she a tutor. Over the seven years that followed, that initial connection blossomed into a strong partnership. What began as a season of shared service eventually became the cornerstone of our lives together, shaping us in ways we never could have anticipated. Our first real connection took place during an afternoon in downtown Grand Rapids. What started as a casual "friend date" quickly revealed a much deeper compatibility. Not long after, Estrella took the initiative to make our relationship official. From that point on, we became more than just a couple; we became each other’s closest confidantes and best friends. The Lord has blessed and guided our path in remarkable ways throughout our time together. In 2021, at ages 19 and 20, we took the significant step of purchasing our first home. What began as a house for two has since grown into a lively home shared with four beloved cats and two guinea pigs—a space defined by the joy, laughter, and shared responsibilities of the life we’ve built from the ground up. In October 2024, Jonathan asked the most important question of our lives. On one of our favorite nature trails, he shared a heartfelt speech before asking Estrella to marry him. The moment was marked by a quiet celebration—lighting a sky lantern together, a nod to one of Estrella’s favorite Disney movies, and watching it drift over the trees. It was a perfect reflection of our journey and the new chapter we are about to begin. Today, our lives are a blend of creative and academic pursuits. Jonathan is a musician by trade with a deep appreciation for architecture, a field he is currently studying at GRCC. Estrella, who finds joy in puzzles and quiet evenings, recently reached a major milestone by earning her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from GVSU in December 2025. As we look toward this August, we are filled with joy to enter into the covenant of marriage before the Lord. Our prayer is that our union would not only honor Him but also serve as a living testimony of His faithfulness and love. We are profoundly grateful for the way each of you has walked alongside us, prayed for us, and shaped the people we have become.
