-Despite what you may hear, Lebanon is a safe place! Please make sure to always carry your passport or some form of identification with you at all times, and you'll be fine! -We will be traveling to different areas of the country, where it is often normal practice to pass by Lebanese army security checkpoints. There may also be certain checkpoints at night as we come back from parties. These are often meant to check for drunk drivers on the road. Please let whoever is driving be the only point of communication with the person at the checkpoint. Don’t be alarmed or worried - these checkpoints are COMPLETELY normal. The worst thing that would happen (1% of the time) you will get asked to show your ID. -Do not drink the tap water, but it's ok to brush your teeth with it -Do not flush any paper/feminine products down the toilet anywhere
