It was a Wednesday night in November 2021 when Jorge and Sabrina first met. In a back house in Claremont, where a Bible study was being held, Sabrina walked through the door and was greeted by Jorge. Neither of them knew it at the time, but that simple moment marked the beginning of the rest of their lives together. As time passed, their friendship grew. Jorge often describes their conversations as “living water,” full of life, purpose, and joy. At the center of it all was their shared love for Jesus the foundation on which their relationship was built. One day, Jorge invited Sabrina out for coffee to catch her up on what she had missed at Bible study. That coffee meet up turned into six hours of catching up on life and talking about what they loved in the scriptures. A couple of months later, Jorge asked Sabrina to be his girlfriend. On an October night in 2025, he told Sabrina they were heading to an Italian restaurant. Along the way, Jorge pulled over and pretended they were lost in the Hollywood Hills. He asked Sabrina to step out of the car and led her up a cobblestone staircase, softly lit with candles and surrounded by flowers, as “Hallelujah” played in the background. At a beautiful home that looked like an Italian Villa, Jorge read scripture over Sabrina, and together they prayed/ took communion. Then, Jorge got down on one knee and proposed. Overwhelmed and in shock, Sabrina could barely focus until she finally came back to her senses and said yes!
