Her Side Earlier that day I had gone to a bridal shower, and later that night my friend and I made a last minute decision to buy floor tickets to a country concert at the KIA center. We hadn’t seen each other in months and just wanted a fun girls’ night together. Running late as usual, we went straight to the bar to grab our first drink before heading to our seats. I was closing out my tab when I heard two guys say hello to us. My first reaction was honestly a little annoyed, we wanted to have a girls’ night and weren’t looking for guys to interrupt it. But when I looked up, everything changed. Our eyes met and there was an instant connection. Within seconds he moved next to me and introduced himself. And within a couple seconds of introducing himself, he gently grabbed my hand and looked at it. “You don’t have a ring… you’re not married?” he asked. I laughed and said no. He smiled and said, “Good, because I’m going to marry you one day.” We had just met, so of course I laughed. But something about that moment felt different. Soon it was time to go to our seats, which were in different sections. We said goodbye and I told him I’d text him later. When I sat down next to my friend, I turned to her and said, “I’m going to marry that man.” Five minutes later he came back and said there were seats next to them so we could watch the concert together. We spent the rest of the night side by side, and neither of us wanted the night to end. At the time we lived in different cities, but weeks later we reconnected and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. His Side For thousands of reasons, it was a night that almost didn’t happen, but for one reason it did. I was originally supposed to go to a concert in Orlando with someone else, but when those plans fell through I convinced a friend to come along instead. Work had been nonstop and I needed a night to relax. We had floor seats and arrived early, grabbing drinks before the show started. My friend wanted to meet some girls and asked me to be his wingman. After one awkward attempt that quickly ended. I noticed two girls standing at the bar. We walked up and said hello. One of the girls immediately said hello back, while the other was closing out her tab. A moment later she looked up, and the second our eyes met, I knew something was different. Without even thinking, I immediately moved over next to her and introduced myself. There was an instant connection that’s hard to explain, but impossible to ignore. We started talking and completely lost track of time. By the time we realized it, the concert had already started. When it was time for them to head to their seats, I knew I didn’t want the night to end there. So a few minutes later I went back and told them there were seats next to us so we could all watch the concert together. From that moment on, we spent the rest of the night side by side. And from that night forward, I couldn’t imagine my life without her in it.
