Will grew up in West Chester, PA, while Esther grew up all over the US (in Missouri, New York, and Washington to name a few). In 8th grade, Esther and her family started attending Covenant Fellowship Church, and joined the same youth ministry group. Though we knew each other through others and small interactions, we don’t think there was a specific time when we “met.” Thankfully that changed. Last year, they were playing a card game at a college event, and Will realized that he liked Esther a lot. Thankfully, they had a similar friend group, so it wasn’t weird for him to join conversations she was a part of or invite her to play a board game. During this time, Esther realized that she liked Will a lot too. So when Will asked her to get coffee sometime, she said yes! The next few months were a whirlwind. They met each other’s family, learned each other’s history and how they process things. They went to a board game conference and survived watching Eagles and Patriots games together. When Will knew he wanted to marry Esther in late January, he texted her cousin Amanda for engagement ring details and her dad to ask for his blessing. He ordered the ring that night, met with her dad the next week, and the week after that, he planned a day doing things that Esther loved. At the end of that day, as the sun was setting in New Castle, on a small beach, he got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes!
