My favorite story to tell. Our paths crossed on one very ordinary evening at Forest Hill Church. Spencer had been working for the Church and I had just begun a new internship there. As I sat down for my first meeting, I noticed the cutest man walk in. Lets just say, I pretended to not know how to use my computer, just to have him come over and talk to me. Fast forward a month or two. We went out on our first date to the Whitewater Center. The following weekend, our second date, rock climbing at Crowders. But there wouldn't be anymore dates for a while after that... After our two dates, Spencer let me know that he would prefer to just be friends. I played it cool, then cried in the car. LOL. We remained friends! We'd see each other at the rock climbing gym, church and other events. We were truly JUST friends. Then came the summer before I left for The World Race. Feelings arose between us but we both knew nothing would come about it. I was leaving for nearly a year and neither of us wanted to go down that road. It was just too complicated. We spent summer 2019 together; hiking, climbing, hanging out with friends and getting to know each other more and more. Then I left... It was hard leaving it behind, but I knew the calling the Lord had for me. We kept in touch, but at one point, it just became too difficult. We decided not to talk again until I returned to the US. Month five, I received a message from Spencer. He wanted to open the door again. I was hesitant knowing how difficult something like that would be. So, we took another month off from speaking to one another and PRAYED. Prayed until the Lord spoke on what HE wanted the next steps to be. On the last day of that month, He did just that. I said, "Lord, reveal! I don't know what to do." His response: Honor Me and I will honor you. So we chose each other and here we are now. And the Lord has done all that He has spoken. All the honor and all the glory to Him who is faithful beyond measure.
