I met Ajifa about 8–9 years ago on this app called House Party. It’s so rare to find people from the Igala tribe in America, so the moment I saw her name pop up in the group, I knew I had found a sister. From that very moment, we clicked, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Ajifa is truly a girl’s girl she will always come through for her friends, no matter what. Whenever I’m down, she’s not the type to bombard me with advice (that’s usually my role, haha), but one thing she will always do is lift me up. Whether it’s making me laugh, hyping me up, or even standing by my side when I’m in the wrong she’s always there. She knows I don’t like drama so even when I stay silent on certain things, she’s sensitive enough to check in and make sure I’m okay. That’s a rare kind of friendship. She is kind, sweet, fun, and just the right amount of naughty. And today, as she steps into this beautiful new chapter of marriage, I couldn’t be happier for her. Ajifa, I know this journey will be nothing less than a blessing. Even when challenges arise, I pray that God grants you and Funsho the wisdom, strength, and grace to navigate life together. I met Ajifa while working a local hospital travel assignment in 2023. On my first day, I couldn’t help but notice her with her big crochet hair by one of the computer stations —I instantly knew she was Nigerian! She was soo bubbly and full of life! Her presence felt so familiar.. I instantly felt a sense of relief and knew the contract wouldn’t be as bad as I’d expected. She’s often the charge nurse of the unit and I, of course, would seek her assistance often while settling in. She was always ready and willing to help! Soon enough, we were inseparable! We’d gist, eat and giggle for hours every shift and sometimes rode home together after work. Til this day, I am so grateful that contract brought us together! Ajifa has been a true friend and such a joy to know! Her passion, intelligence, maturity and kind heart is one of a kind.. I am so excited to celebrate her and Funsho on their special day!
