Things To Do

Seattle Aquarium

1483 Alaskan Way Pier 59, Seattle, WA 98101

This family friendly and fun place is good for children and adults. Additionally, the Seattle Aquarium recently opened their brand new Ocean Pavilion full of exciting new exhibits. The Aquarium is located on the waterfront near Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. It's location makes it a good option to kill some time prior to taking the Seattle-Bainbridge Island Ferry as an option to get to the wedding venue.

Bloedel Reserve

7571 Northeast Dolphin Drive, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

Try biking through to explore the reserve

State 42 Wines

18850 Front Street Northeast, Poulsbo, WA 98370

The Museum of Flight

The Museum of Flight, Seattle, WA 98108

Check out the Museum of Flight and get a closeup look at a Lockheed Martin M-21 Blackbird: the fastest and highest flying stealth jet ever built, take a look at the technology used in Apollo: the mission that put American astronauts on the moon, or walk through a Concorde: the only supersonic commercial passenger aircraft ever in production.

Woodland Park Zoo (Seattle)

750 N 50th Street, Seattle, WA 98103

The river otters are cute.

Fremont Brewing's Urban Beer Garden

1050 North 34th Street, Seattle, WA 98103

Try some local brews at Fremont Brewery. Also, check out

Kayak Rentals at Moss Bay on Lake Washington

1001 Fairview Ave N #1900, Seattle, WA 98109

Rent kayaks at Moss Bay and check out the sea planes on Lake Washington.

Visit Mount Rainier, The North Cascades, or Olympic National Park

WA

Mount Rainier National Park (https://www.nps.gov/mora/index.htm): Take a 1.5 hour drive south of Seattle and enjoy hiking and pristine views of Washington's highest peak, Mount Rainier, at 14,410 ft. The North Cascades National Park (https://www.nps.gov/noca/index.htm): Take in the views of beautiful Diablo Lake in the North Cascades National Park. The park entrance is a 2 hour drive north of Seattle. Olympic National Park (https://www.nps.gov/olym/index.htm): Enjoy the three unique terrains of Olympic National Park, the snowcapped mountains off Hurricane Ridge, the lush greenery of the Hoh Rainforest, and the colorful tide pools of the Olympic beaches. Of the three national parks in Washington, Olympic National Park is the furthest from Seattle but closest to the wedding venue.

Discovery Park just north of Seattle

Seattle, WA 98199

Get out and stretch your legs without driving far from Seattle.

Other Hiking/Outdoor Recreation

There are numerous outdoor recreation options, some of which do not require going far out of your way during your visit. The Alpine Lakes Wilderness (alltrails.com/parks/us/washington/alpine-lakes-wilderness): There are many hikes in this area including several options within an hour drive from Seattle. Check out the moderate, 6.7 mile total Snow Lake Trail. It's one of Eric and Esther's favorites. Mount Baker Wilderness (alltrails.com/parks/us/washington/mount-baker-wilderness): Although this area is a further drive from Seattle, Mount Baker includes numerous gorgeous hikes. Check out Lake 22, a moderate, 5.9 mile total hike. The Olympic National Forest (alltrails.com/parks/us/washington/olympic-national-forest): This area is closer to the wedding venue in Poulsbo than it is Seattle. You may require a Discovery Day Pass (store.discoverpass.wa.gov) or a Northwest Forest Day Pass (discovernw.org/recreation-passes.html), both of which can be purchased online ahead of time.
