It was Fall 2016 and Bennett and Esther were both attending the UNM Martial Arts Expo in Albuquerque, NM. Bennett was watching while Esther was actually demoing her Jiu Jitsu. Impressed by her breakfalls, throws, and cute gi, Bennett decided to talk to her. As Esther struggled to put away some tables, Bennett smoothly offered to help. While speaking terrible Korean and making jokes that only he found funny, Esther was amused and acquiesced to grabbing coffee on a “date”.
Fast forward, their relationship blossomed and the two have never been happier. Together, they travelled across the world meeting new people, trying new foods, and dreaming of starting a family. After a year of dating, Bennett knew he had found the one. On February 18 2018, Bennett proposed to Esther by the Rio Grande in Taos, NM.
