We are providing a bus from Rio to Paraty on Thurs 10/22 and back on Mon 10/26 - however, there are also many daily shuttle / bus options that are available for booking online (links below). Brazil is an incredible destination, and with normal travel awareness you will have a wonderful experience. In Rio Use Uber or registered taxis at night; Avoid displaying valuables on the beach or in crowded areas; Stay in well-known neighborhoods (Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana); Carry only what you need for the day. In Paraty Very relaxed and safe tourist environment; Cobblestone streets can be uneven so comfortable shoes are recommended; High tides occasionally flood parts of the historic center (normal and temporary).

We'll have Brazilian staples at the wedding - in the meantime, fresh açaí bowls, coxinha (chicken croquette), pao de queijo, feijoada, churrasco (make sure to use farofa) are some of our favorites. Paraty is a known foodie destination and we have a variety of recommendations in the "Things to do" section. En la boda serviremos clásicos de la cocina brasileña. Where should I stay in Rio de Janeiro?

If you’d like to stay in a central area where you can enjoy both the city and the beach, we recommend Copacabana, Ipanema, or Leblon. These neighborhoods offer many hotel and Airbnb options, ranging from luxury to more budget-friendly choices. If you prefer more of a resort-style experience—relaxing by the beach and enjoying a quieter atmosphere—Barra da Tijuca is a great option. Please note that Barra is farther from the main city areas, and travel times can be long due to traffic. Other good options include Botafogo (central and often more affordable), Lagoa (quiet and scenic), and Santa Teresa (historic and artistic).
