FAQs

Feel free to contact Hailey with any questions you may have, if you don't see your answer below. These are some of the frequent questions we have been receiving throughout our wedding journey.
Question

There is a new mandate for vaccines in Chicago starting January 2022. Do we need a vaccine to go to the airport?

Answer

No. After reading into the rules and regulations, vaccines are NOT required to enter the airport (midway or ohare international airport) despite the new mandate.

Question

Do I NEED a COVID-19 vaccine to go to the wedding?

Answer

This is a big question we get. The CDC does NOT require you to get the vaccine to travel to the wedding. The CDC does recommend unvaccinated persons refrain from non-essential travel, but you can still attend the wedding and maintain precautions if you wish. The only requirement currently is a proof of a negative test within 1 day from your return date to the U.S. The resort does provide these tests free of charge (2 per room, any additional tests are $19 each), but you must schedule them once you check into the resort.

Question

How do I book my shuttle to/from the airport?

Answer

Once your room is booked, you can email transfercancun@palaceresorts.com and request shuttle transport. They will send you information and you can choose your times to book your transportation. If you stay 4 nights, shuttle is complimentary. If you are having issues, please contact the resort regarding this issue. If you stay less than 4 nights, transportation is available at an additional cost.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Formal invitations and RSVP cards will be sent out mid September. Please RSVP back to us once your room(s) are booked. When you respond, please let us know how many rooms you have booked for your group, either on the card or through a text/Facebook message! Thank you!! 😄

Question

Where will we be staying?

Answer

Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort located in Cancun, Mexico

Question

What expenses do we need to pay for during our trip?

Answer

The resort is all inclusive, meaning all drinks and food will be included in your stay at no additional cost. Some activities (such as excursions and spa treatments) require additional costs. You will be responsible for your passport, flight and stay costs.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! In order to enter into Mexico, you will need a passport. Make sure to check up on your passport's expiration date or apply for a new one. Passports are taking longer to process since COVID began and can take up to several months to come in.

Question

When should I get my passport?

Answer

ASAP. Due to COVID-19, passports are taking anywhere from 12-18 weeks to be processed and shipped out. Keep in mind, you do need your passport/passport number in order to book a flight and reserve your room.

Question

How do I book a room?

Answer

We have set aside a number of blocked rooms for our guests. You can book through the website in the travel page on our website. Rooms are available for up to 4 guests.

Question

When should I book my stay?

Answer

As soon as you know you'll be joining us! Our hotel block is reserved with an adequate number of rooms for our guests, however there are no guarantees if you wait.

Question

Where do we fly into/out of?

Answer

Cancun International Airport is the closest airport to the resort.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dressy casual/destination appropriate. It’s going to be warm and we want all of you to be comfortable!! Keep in mind, the ceremony will be held on the beach.

Question

How long do we have to stay at the resort?

Answer

As long as you want to!! 😉 The mandatory minimum is 3 nights, but we are not opposed to a week long celebration either.

Question

What type of currency is used in Mexico?

Answer

Pesos are the Mexican currency. However, since the resort receives a higher amount of American customers, U.S. dollars are accepted as well.

Question

What if we cannot attend?

Answer

Completely understandable. We understand it's not an average wedding and things can get in the way, whether it's money, time, prior obligations, etc. There will be plenty of other chances to come celebrate with us. Please just let us know if you do not plan to attend.
