Many of you might know that we met in Atlanta through mutual friends, and while that’s technically true, we have been in the background of each other’s lives for much longer than we realized. We both attended the same preschool in 1999-2000, though we didn’t discover this connection until well after we started dating. Years later, we ended up at the same school again, yet still never met. We both then moved to the U.S. a year apart, eventually landing in the same city. It wasn’t until then that we finally crossed paths, thanks to a mutual friend we both knew from our school back in Addis. So, where and when did we really first meet? The easy answer is in Atlanta in 2021. But who’s to say? Maybe it was in the hallways of our high school, or on the streets of Gerji or Bole, where we spent most of our teenage years. Or perhaps it was on the playground of our preschool. The truth is, we really don’t remember! Our story is a reminder that God guides us according to His plan, leading us to what is best at the right time. Those destined to find each other always will.
