How We Met

Hunter & Marinda met working at Weis in 2015. Marinda was a shy, 17 year old senior in high school and Hunter was a budding college student. The first few interactions were simply having him ring up alcohol for her since she wasn't legally allowed to.. These small meetings led to conversations and some laughter. Hunter always wore a pair of shoes that squeaked with every step he took - and soon Marnda found herself giddy when she heard the sound of those shoes approaching. One day he asked her to go out with him - she was so nervous she almost said no, but a great friend pushed her to say yes. They went to the mall where they casually strolled, and then he bought her Sonic for dinner. The night was full of great conversation, music and fun. They both had no clue that this first time out would pave the way for what they have today - a strong, loving bond with hopes and dreams for the future together.

The Proposal

April 17, 2021

Hunter & Marinda both talked about wanting to visit Luray Caverns someday. Naturally, when Hunter suggested that they finally visit in April everyone said "absolutely!" Deep in the caverns is the Great Stalacpipe Organ - which is the largest instrument in the world. Hunter kept talking about it and how excited he was to get to it. Hunter, Lakota & Marinda toured the caverns together - taking pictures here, taking pictures there. Once they finally reached the organ they waited around for a minute for the organ to play its beautiful song. Once the song was over, Hunter and Marinda got a picture together in front of it. At this moment, Marinda noticed she could hear Hunters heart about to beat out of his chest and thought "is he okay?" He turned to her and said "so there is actually another reason I wanted to get to the organ." That's when he pulled out a wooden ring box from his pocket, knelt down and asked her to marry him. Marinda had to take a second to breathe because she was in shock but, of course, she said YES!
