Back in late 2018, Jimmy and Estefanía found each other with a little help from the World Wide Web. They decided to give it a shot and met up for coffee and waffles at Legacy West. Jimmy was pleasantly surprised that Estefanía looked even better in person than in her pictures. He walked away from their first date feeling like he’d just been “reverse catfished” — his term for when someone turns out to be far more attractive in person than in pictures — and convinced she was way out of his league. He didn’t have high hopes for a second date. On the other side of town, Estefanía went back home giddy that the guy looked exactly like his pictures, and was also smart, funny, and respectful. But what truly dumbfounded her was Jimmy’s smile, and his ability to never run out of things to talk about. Jimmy, realizing you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, mustered up the courage to ask Estefanía out again. She was thrilled when she got his text. That second date, and the many that followed, were all a hit. Over time, the two became close friends. But with busy schedules filled with work and school, they decided to pause on anything more. Still, they never really stopped thinking about each other. A few years (and a little growing up) later, life brought them back together — this time, for good. And from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable.
